Thatch
Screen
This thatch screen is actually made from extremely tough and fibrous heather stems. These wiry heather stems are a wonderful chocolate brown colour that slowly fades to silvery grey as it ages just like real thatch screen does. Bundles of these heather stems are bound together with galvanised wire to give a unique screen at least as far
as appearances go.
The flexibility that is
inherent with this screen makes it the most
useful when it comes to covering unusually
shaped objects such as oil tanks or octagonal
gazebo roofs. With a bit of persuasion it
can be made to adapt to most things and
is very easy to fix.
It has a long
lifespan of five to ten years if fixed correctly
and is almost maintenance free. Outdoors very little bothers it but we do not
recommend the use of this screen indoors
as it tends to be dusty and spiders love
it!
It comes in 4 m 13 ft long
rolls that are either 1 m, 3 ft 3 inches,
1.5 m , 4 ft 11 inches or 2 m 6 ft 6 inches
wide.
This screen makes a superb
faux thatch roof that can help to subdue
the ubiquitous but necessary garden shed
or provide a natural summer sunshade to
an overheated green house. The uses for
this screen are legion and we heartily
recommend you read our "Uses"
page which is bound to inspire you and also
have a look at our" How To" page
for fixing instructions
